Advisory Board

When launching the Adolescent HIV/AIDS Prevention National Resource Center, JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI) created an advisory board of youth-serving professionals with expertise in state policy, program development, advocacy, school health, and positive youth development. Board members support the Center with input on content and resources and meet on a quarterly basis.

The board's purpose is to inform and support the work of this Office of Adolescent Health-funded Center. Board members provide JSI with vital input and feedback on content and resources for the What Works in Youth HIV website. They also give input on JSI's approach to capacity building assistance, ensuring that it is relevant to target audiences (e.g., teachers, guidance counselors, clinic staff). Members will also help to ensure that the materials JSI develops or posts to the website meet target audience needs and are culturally relevant. They will outline where gaps in youth HIV prevention exist and what their respective organizations need to fill those gaps. JSI will incorporate members' perspectives on the essential information and resources needed to remain up-to-date on HIV prevention and how best to reach vulnerable adolescents at higher risk for HIV infection. Finally, board members disseminate information about the Center through its networks and connect JSI with others in the field.
