For the past 16 years, I have worked with state and local programs to improve the health of our nation's young adults. I started my career in public health as a peer educator working on a crisis hotline and then as a peer sexuality educator. From there I went on to study public health at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. For the What Works project, I direct a team equally committed to healthy adolescents, to an HIV-free generation, and to communicating related facts and issues clearly through this website and technical assistance.
Vision for adolescent health and HIV prevention and treatment:
All adolescents will know their HIV status, so an AIDS-free generation will be possible. They will also have the necessary skills and confidence to make choices about their sexual health that are right for them. Youth will live in a world where stigma and bullying are nonexistent.
